U-Kon Façade Systems

Build Relationships. Pursue Opportunities. Win Projects.

U-Kon Façade Systems provides engineered façade attachment solutions for architects, contractors, developers, and building owners. It designs and manufacturers systems based on proven designs from Europe. Façade Systems Inc. is U-Kon’s partner and Agent in Ontario. The successful candidate will be an employee of U-Kon and take direction from Blair of FSI.

We're looking for an ambitious person who wants to build a career in the building-envelope industry while learning how technical solutions are developed, relationships are built, opportunities are pursued, and entrepreneurial businesses grow.

This is an outside business development role. You'll be in the market, meeting architects and builders, following up on opportunities, creating momentum, and helping make sure good projects don't get away.

Your Mission

Make sure no opportunity gets away.

You'll join a team that already has strong industry relationships, generates demand, and provides sophisticated technical and engineering support. Your job is to run with those opportunities.

That means following up, getting meetings, staying in touch, understanding where projects stand, developing relationships, and helping move opportunities toward specification and award. Over time, you'll increasingly identify and develop opportunities of your own.

You won't be expected to know every technical answer. You will be expected to learn quickly and recognize when it's time to bring additional expertise into the conversation.

We don't expect you to know everything. We expect you to know when to ask.

A Strong Team Behind You

You won't be sent into the market with a brochure and told to figure it out.

Blair Davies brings established industry relationships, creates demand, helps develop pursuit strategy, and can step into important commercial or strategic conversations when needed.

Alex at U-Kon provides the technical and engineering strength behind the system—including proposals, drawings, technical details, and engineering support.

That gives you something powerful to take to an architect or builder: a team capable of helping solve the problem, not simply selling a product.

Your role is to bring the energy, persistence, responsiveness, and relationship management that keeps those opportunities moving.

What You'll Do

· Meet architects, contractors, developers, and other construction professionals.

· Follow up aggressively and professionally on identified opportunities.

· Build relationships with the people involved in selecting and designing façade systems.

· Identify projects early and understand where U-Kon can create value.

· Arrange meetings, presentations, and technical discussions.

· Keep opportunities moving and maintain clear next actions.

· Work with Blair on business-development strategy and customer relationships.

· Work with Alex when engineering, drawings, details, or technical expertise are required.

· Learn when you can handle a conversation yourself and when additional expertise should be brought in.

· Develop increasing independence and eventually create opportunities of your own.

Who We're Looking For An Architectural Technology background would be particularly attractive.

You may enjoy architecture and buildings but be looking for a career beyond the traditional architecture-office path. Building envelopes are one of the most technically challenging parts of a building to get right. This role provides exposure to architecture, engineering, construction, technical problem-solving, customer relationships, sales,

and entrepreneurship.

The Traits That Matter

· Ambitious and willing to work hard.

· Persistent about following up.

· Naturally comfortable meeting people.

· An excellent communicator.

· Technically curious.

· Organized and responsive.

· Coachable.

· Confident without pretending to know things they don't.

· Competitive and motivated by winning.

· Interested in building a career rather than simply finding their next job.

The U-Kon Brand

Our business has been built on trust.

We want architects and contractors to finish a meeting thinking: “They know what they're talking about, they follow through, and I'd enjoy working with them.”

You'll increasingly become a face of U-Kon in the market. That means being prepared, credible, responsive, straightforward, and genuinely enjoyable to work with.

Technical knowledge can be developed. Trust has to be earned.

A Different Kind of Career

This isn't simply an outside-sales job.

You'll work closely with experienced entrepreneurs who have built successful businesses while also bringing significant corporate experience and discipline to how those businesses operate.

You'll learn how opportunities are identified, customers are developed, technical solutions are created, projects are pursued, negotiations happen, and businesses grow.

You'll begin with the stability of a salary while learning the business. As your skills, responsibilities, and contribution grow, there is an opportunity for increasing performance-based compensation.

For someone curious about both buildings and entrepreneurship, this can be an unusually broad education—and the beginning of a very interesting career.
