Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Chef with strong knowledge of South Asian cuisine to lead our kitchen team. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience preparing a variety of traditional and authentic South Asian dishes, managing kitchen operations, and maintaining consistent food quality and presentation.

The Chef will be responsible for menu planning, food preparation, supervising kitchen staff, maintaining food safety standards, managing inventory, and ensuring that all dishes meet the restaurant's quality and taste standards.

Responsibilities

- Prepare and oversee the preparation of a variety of traditional South Asian dishes.
- Develop and maintain menus featuring authentic South Asian flavours and dishes.
- Supervise, train, and guide kitchen staff in food preparation and cooking techniques.
- Ensure proper use of ingredients, spices, recipes, and cooking methods.
- Monitor the quality, taste, freshness, and presentation of all food.
- Manage inventory and order food and kitchen supplies as required.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper hygiene throughout the kitchen.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation requirements.
- Monitor food costs, portion sizes, and food waste.
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth and timely service.




- Introduce new dishes and make menu recommendations based on customer preferences.
- Manage kitchen operations effectively during busy service periods.

Qualifications
- Proven experience working as a Chef in a restaurant or food-service setting.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience preparing South Asian cuisine.
- Positive understanding of traditional spices, ingredients, cooking techniques, and recipes.
- Previous experience supervising and training kitchen staff.
- Knowledge of food safety and proper food-handling procedures.
- Ability to manage kitchen operations in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain consistent food quality, taste, and presentation.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure.

What We Are Looking For We are seeking a Chef who is passionate about South Asian cuisine and has the skills and experience to prepare authentic, flavorful dishes while leading a kitchen team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of food quality, cleanliness, consistency, and customer satisfaction.

Pay: $17.60-$36.72 per hour

Expected hours: 35.0 – 40.0 per week
