JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for helping create and deliver an exceptional guest dining experience by overseeing an assigned kitchen station and ensuring accurate, sanitary, and efficient food preparation.

The Chef de Partie prepares and cooks menu items, coordinates the work of team members at their station, and supports other areas of the kitchen as required. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment where culinary skill, organization, teamwork, and attention to detail are essential to delivering consistent, high-quality meals.

Placement within the hiring range is based on skills, experience, and accomplishments in comparable roles.

Tasks may include, but are not limited to:

- Set up and manage an assigned kitchen station to ensure it is prepared for service
- Prepare, cook, and assemble menu items according to established recipes, cooking procedures, portion sizes, and presentation standards
- Coordinate orders and preparation times with other stations to ensure meals are completed accurately and served promptly
- Monitor food quality, cooking temperatures, portioning,



and presentation throughout service
- Direct and support cooks and other team members working at the assigned station
- Provide guidance and training on recipes, preparation methods, food safety, and kitchen procedures
- Complete prep work and monitor station supplies to ensure ingredients are available for service
- Communicate shortages, equipment concerns, and service issues to kitchen leadership
- Help minimize food waste through proper preparation, portioning, storage, and use of ingredients
- Perform cooking and food preparation duties at other kitchen stations as required
- Clean and maintain kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils, and ensure the station is left ready for the next shift
- Maintain compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards
- Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

- 2+ years of cooking experience in a high-volume restaurant or fast-paced kitchen environment preferred. Experience managing a kitchen station and guiding other cooks is considered an asset.
- Culinary education or apprenticeship training considered an asset
- Minimum Grade 10 education or equivalent
- Demonstrated commitment to maximizing guest satisfaction through quality food preparation
- Strong cooking skills and the ability to maintain food quality and consistency during busy service periods
- Ability to organize and manage an assigned station while supporting other kitchen operations
- Ability to guide team members, communicate clearly, and work cooperatively with other stations
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple orders
- Strong attention to detail in food handling safety, food preparation, portioning, presentation, and kitchen cleanliness
- Ability to follow and reinforce recipes, cooking procedures,



and direction from kitchen leadership
- Ability to work independently, use sound judgment, and remain composed under pressure
- Ability to safely use a variety of kitchen knives and equipment
- Must be able to work all shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Completion of Public Health Food Handler Certification considered an asset
