Job Function In support of the Mission and Vision of Motor City Community Credit Union, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for leading the Credit Union’s member-facing operations and driving consistent, efficient and sustainable service delivery. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the COO provides strategic and operational oversight of Retail Branch Operations, Retail Lending, Wealth and Marketing, ensuring these areas work together to deliver exceptional member experience, achieve business objectives, manage operational risk and support the Credit Union’s long-term growth.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

- Provide strategic and operational leadership for Retail Branch Operations, Retail Lending, Wealth and Marketing, aligned with the Credit Union’s strategic plan, values and risk appetite
- Lead consistent, high-quality member experience across all channels, with a focus on service, accessibility, trusted advice and sustainable growth
- Oversee branch operations, including sales and service performance, staffing, operational controls, security practices and compliance with established policies and procedures
- Provide executive oversight of retail lending, including origination, adjudication, portfolio growth, credit quality and compliance with lending policies and delegated authorities
- Oversee the delivery and growth of wealth management services, including member solutions, partner relationships, governance and compliance
- Lead marketing, brand stewardship, community presence and member communications in support of growth and engagement objectives
- Develop operating plans and budgets, monitor key performance indicators and ensure effective use of financial, staffing and operational resources
- Manage operational, credit, conduct, reputational and third-party risks and ensure compliance with applicable legislation, regulatory requirements and internal policies
- Champion continuous improvement,



digital enablement and cross-functional collaboration to strengthen member and employee experiences
- Build leadership capacity, accountability and succession readiness, and provide timely reporting and recommendations to the CEO and as required, the Board and its Committees
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Finance or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 10–15 years of progressively responsible financial services experience, including at least 5 years in senior leadership with accountability for multiple business functions
- Demonstrated experience in retail branch operations and retail lending; wealth management and marketing oversight is strongly preferred
- Experience developing and executing business plans, budgets, growth strategies and operational improvement initiatives within a regulated financial institution
- A professional designation, advanced degree or experience in a unionized environment is considered an asset
- Must be bondable

Competencies/Skills:

- Strategic and operational leadership with the ability to translate organizational priorities into measurable results
- Strong knowledge of retail financial services, branch operations, consumer lending, member experience, wealth delivery and marketing
- Sound business and financial acumen, including budgeting, performance management, portfolio analysis and resource allocation
- Strong understanding of risk management, governance, regulatory compliance,



privacy and consumer protection
- Demonstrated success leading people, organizational change, process improvement and digital transformation
- Excellent communication, collaboration, coaching and relationship-building skills
- Sound judgment, integrity, accountability and a strong member-focused approach to decision-making
