Place is seeking caring and reliable Childminders to support preschool childminding services within the Recreation Division. These positions are ideal for individuals who enjoy working with infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children and are committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and positive environment for children and families. Under the general direction of a Recreation Programmer or Program Supervisor, the Childminder is responsible for supervising children in a secure and organized manner, preparing the room and equipment before the start of the program, monitoring participant entrance,



keeping accurate attendance records, welcoming participants, and providing accurate and enthusiastic feedback to patrons.

Requirements include completion of Grade 10, three months' experience working with preschool-aged children, and Emergency First Aid and CPR C Certification. The successful candidates will demonstrate accuracy in keeping attendance, patience, support and understanding with children, effective communication skills, adaptability, relationship-building skills, problem-solving ability, and a strong customer service focus. Renewal of PIC-VS is required as per policy.

The successful candidates will work Thursday shifts, including 8:30 a.m. as well as on-call shifts as operationally required. Hours and shifts are subject to change. These are C.Local 2011 positions with a wage of $21.35 per hour (2026 rate) plus 15% in lieu of benefits .
