CNC Machinist – Night Shift

Our client is a Windsor-based automotive tooling manufacturer specializing in the design, manufacture, repair, and modification of plastic injection molds and precision tooling.

Due to continued workload and growth, they are looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to join their permanent night shift.

This is an excellent opportunity for a machinist with experience in the tool, mold, die, or precision machining industry who is comfortable working independently and producing high-quality components to tight tolerances.

Shift

- Full-time, permanent night shift
- Monday through Friday
- Consistent night-shift schedule
- Optional overtime is available
- Employees who want additional hours can also work weekend night shifts
- Weekend overtime is optional and provides an opportunity to earn additional income

The Role As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for machining precision components used in the manufacture, repair, and modification of automotive plastic injection molds.

You will work with complex components, cores, cavities, mold details, and tooling while maintaining a strong focus on accuracy, quality, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

- Set up and operate CNC machining equipment
- Machine mold components, cores, cavities, and other precision tooling
- Perform 3-axis and/or 5-axis CNC machining
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and machining specifications
- Set tooling, offsets, work coordinates, and machining parameters
- Verify programs and tool paths prior to machining
- Perform in-process inspections and dimensional checks
- Work to tight tolerances and surface-finish requirements
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and setup issues




- Make appropriate adjustments to maintain part quality
- Maintain machines, tooling, and work areas
- Work closely with CNC programmers, mold makers, and other members of the tooling team
- Follow all company safety and quality procedures

What We're Looking For The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous CNC machining experience in a tool and mold, die, automotive tooling, or precision machining setting
- Experience with 3-axis and/or 5-axis CNC machining
- Experience machining cores, cavities, mold components, or complex tooling is strongly preferred
- Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings
- Strong understanding of feeds, speeds, tooling, offsets, and machining practices
- Experience with Fanuc and/or Heidenhain controls is an asset
- PowerMill experience is a strong asset
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
- Ability to inspect your own work and maintain tight tolerances
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively and independently on night shift
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic
