COMMUNICATIONS AND MARKETING COORDINATOR

JOB PURPOSE

EQUS is looking for a detail oriented and highly organized Communications and Marketing Coordinator to coordinate internal and external communications and marketing activities for EQUS. Working closely with subject-matter experts, the Communications and Marketing Coordinator responsibilities will include press releases, media events, AGM booklet preparation and communications, project and member impacting communications and other high impact activities that drive communication and marketing to support EQUS’ identity.

COMMUNICATION DUTIES

- Design and support internal and external communications activities for EQUS, including but not limited to: social media oversight, SharePoint, monthly member newsletter, major outage response, and news articles on EQUS.ca.
- Support with copy editing and quality control on materials written by EQUS staff to ensure corporate identity standards are met.
- Support with corporate media communications such as press releases and external stakeholder communications.
- Collaborate with departments to develop targeted communication strategies.

MARKETING DUTIES

- Support the Business Development team with planning and execution of sales communications, draft communication and business development proposals and a range of general communication materials.
- Lead management and sales conversion; manage warm/hot leads generated through EQUS.ca,



Power Co-op submissions and member referrals.
- Member retention; engage with existing EQUS members to support retention.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

- Exceptional communication and presentation skills (both oral and written)
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to proofread and edit communications materials and technical documents to meet standards
- Exceptional time management skills and ability to work well under pressure and tight timelines
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently
- Experience in Adobe suite, Client Relationship Management systems and MS Office proficiency.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

- Graduation from a University program in the field of Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field
- 2-4 years experience in communications, marketing, or sales coordination
