COMMUNITY RESOURCE CONSULTANT

1 – CASUAL POSITION Salary: $34.82 – $36.27 per hour (OPTIONS NORTHWEST is a community-based, non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to respecting the right of people to live life their way. Through personalized OPTIONS, we collaborate with people and community partners to develop and offer creative personal and clinical services for individuals. 4 year degree in the Social Services field ~ proven work experience (preferably in a multi-disciplinary clinical setting), knowledge and training in supporting children and adults with developmental disabilities and mental health diagnosis, including individuals who experience challenging behaviours ~ flexibility to meet service demands (office, homes and community settings) ~ an understanding of legislation such as the Services and Supports to Promote the Social Inclusion of Persons with Developmental Disabilities Act, 2008 and Regulation 299/10 and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act,



2005 is required ~ computer skills and a working knowledge of MS Office Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services on the Community Resource Team, the Community Resource Consultant shall provide person centered clinical services to individuals, both children and adults with a developmental disability or dual diagnosis, as well as specialized support to the families, caregivers and agencies. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, the Community Resource Consultant shall be responsible to act as a positive role model, collaborating with others both inside and outside of the organization and using knowledge, training and experience to conduct assessments, complete intakes, develop programming, provide counselling and facilitate groups.

A creative ability to think outside the box in order to meet clinical service demands and work with a diverse group of people is a necessity.
