Atlantic Developments Inc. is seeking an experienced Concrete Finisher for permanent, full-time employment on residential and commercial construction projects at various locations in the Halifax area.
Responsibilities:
- Check formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement materials.
- Direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade.
- Fill hollows and remove high spots on freshly poured concrete.
- Operate power vibrators to compact concrete.
- Level concrete surfaces according to grade and depth specifications.
- Finish concrete surfaces using hand and power tools.
- Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills and other fixtures.
- Apply hardening and sealing compounds to cure surfaces.
- Waterproof, damp-proof and restore concrete surfaces.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of relevant concrete finishing experience.
- No degree, certificate or diploma required.
- English required.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including bending, crouching, kneeling and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Own transportation required.
- Dependable, adaptable and able to work effectively as part of a team.
