Port Moody

Project Manager

All Experience Levels

Build the places where communities live, learn, work and play.

At Yellowridge, our work shows up in people's lives: schools where kids learn, healthcare facilities where people heal, housing that gives families a stable home, and spaces built with and for Indigenous communities across Western Canada. For over 65 years, our focus has been simple — Building Quality Social Purpose Projects.

We're looking for a Project Manager who wants their work to matter. Someone who takes ownership, leads from the front, and wants to grow with a company that invests in its people. We have An extensive pipeline of upcoming work, and we want you to help us build it.

All experience levels welcome. Whether you're an established PM ready for bigger projects or a seasoned leader ready to run our largest builds, we'll match the title (Project Manager or Senior Project Manager), scope, and compensation to what you bring.

Location

Port Moody head office, with projects across Western Canada

Sectors

Healthcare, Indigenous, Education, and Social Housing

Project size

$10 million to $50 million and above

Level

Project Manager or Senior Project Manager, matched to your experience

Ownership

Employee Share Ownership Plan with company matching, plus RRSP matching

WHY YOU'LL WANT TO WORK HERE

- Share in what you build. Our Employee Share Ownership Plan lets you buy company shares, and Yellowridge matches your purchases the same way our RRSP matching program works. When Yellowridge succeeds, you share directly in that success.
- Work that means something. Every project we take on serves a community — you'll see the impact long after the site closes.
- Grow your career. We subsidize tuition and time for career development courses that lead to advancement and promotion, and we'll help you map out where you want to go.
- On the leading edge of technology and AI. We're at the forefront of putting new technology and AI to work in construction, giving our teams modern tools that cut down on admin so you can focus on leading your projects.
- A clear, well-run company. We run on the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS®): clear goals, focused quarterly priorities, and weekly leadership meetings, so everyone knows where we're headed and how they contribute.
- Leaders you can reach. We have an open-door policy at every level, and curious minds are always welcome. Our leadership team is trusted and dependable, and our people come from diverse industry backgrounds (we have a lot of fun, too).
- Competitive pay and benefits. A competitive salary, extended health benefits, and RRSP matching.
- A outstanding place to land every morning. Our Port Moody head office is steps from coffee shops, public transit, and Rocky Point Park.

OUR CORE VALUES These five values are how we work together and how we measure ourselves. If they sound like you, you'll fit right in:

- “Be respectful” (treat people how you want to be treated)
- “Dynamic unity” (teamwork, personable,

sociable)
- “Do what you say” (trustworthy, reliable, accountable)
- “Pursue with purpose” (committed, loyal, persistent)
- “Take pride in your work” (attention to detail, organized)

THE ROLE You'll own your projects from start to finish, keeping them safe, on schedule, on budget, and built to the quality our clients expect. You'll work side by side with site teams, clients, consultants, and trade partners, and be the person everyone counts on to keep the project moving. More experienced candidates will lead our largest and most complex builds, mentor project teams, and take on broader responsibility for commercial performance.

Our Proven Process. Every Yellowridge project follows the same path, and you'll lead it: Project Initiation → Planning, Design, & Risk Mitigation → Buyout → Execution → Safety and Quality Assurance → Close-Out → Post-Project Support → Relationship Building. It's how we deliver exceptional projects to build a better future.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Lead the team

- Partner with your Site Superintendent to solve consultant, trade, and on-site challenges as they come up.
- Set direction so your project team hits its objectives, timelines, and budgets, and report on performance, financial status, and key risks.
- Mentor team members in leadership, methodology, tools, problem-solving, and people skills.
- Lead client and consultant discussions on scope, budget, schedule impacts, and issue resolution.

Plan and control the work

- Get projects off to the right start by taking part in handover meetings and making sure permits, safety, insurance, and accurate construction drawings are in place before work begins.
- Build and manage the schedule, tracking progress, adjusting as needed, and reviewing 6-week lookaheads, trade meeting minutes, and daily project diaries.
- Keep documents current, making sure drawings, addenda, site instructions, and change orders are marked up and distributed, and as-builts stay up to date on site.
- Manage shop drawings (SDs), site instructions (SIs), and requests for information (RFIs).

Own the numbers

- Prepare monthly progress claims and job cost reports.
- Keep budgets on track by reviewing accounts payable invoices, payroll timesheets, and trade invoices, and resolving discrepancies or disputes.
- Review, price, and manage change orders (CCNs, CDs, PCOs, COs, and SCOs) and their documentation.
- Reconcile project budgets, including cash allowances and lien holdbacks, at key milestones such as substantial performance.

Keep people safe and quality high

- Ensure compliance with all project permits,

insurance requirements, and safety standards, and prepare and submit the WCB “Notice of Project.”
- Review monthly site safety inspections and submit reports to the designated safety officer within 48 hours.
- Review municipal and consultant inspection reports and work with your Site Superintendent to resolve any issues.
- Complete certification documentation, such as LEED, where required.

Deliver and close out

- Be the go-to contact for clients, consultants, and trade partners, building relationships that last beyond the project.
- Lead and minute project meetings, including Owner-Architect-Contractor (OAC) meetings.
- Drive close-out, from punch lists to having all deficiencies completed within 45 days of substantial performance.
- Approve maintenance manuals and make sure all required documentation is complete before substantial performance.
- Help us get better by contributing to continuous improvement and project post-mortems.

WHAT YOU BRING

- 3–10+ years of experience as a Project Manager in industrial, commercial, or institutional construction; candidates with 7–10+ years, including experience in Canada, may be considered for our Senior Project Manager role.
- A demonstrated ability to identify, analyze, and expedite resolutions to challenges across every phase of construction.
- Excellent contract document interpretation and blueprint reading skills.
- Working knowledge of project delivery methods, including design-build, construction management, and general contracting.
- A diploma, degree, or technical certification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills, with a proven ability to work with owners, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers; experience mentoring junior team members is an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, time management, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency with standard office and project management software.
- A motivated, energetic self-starter who takes ownership of project outcomes and steps into a leadership role, holding themselves and their team accountable for results.
- Experience with Healthcare, Indigenous, Education, or Social Housing projects is a strong asset.

READY TO BUILD WITH PURPOSE? If you want to lead projects that make a real difference in communities across Western Canada and grow with a company where you share in the success you help create, we'd love to hear from you. Submit your resume to our Human Resources department.
