Position: Construction Supervisor
Function: Reporting to the Director of Construction, the Construction Supervisor oversees and manages all site activities related to specific construction and renovation sites for CAMi clients. This function includes; Health and Safety, regulatory compliance, site quality, site activity planning & performance, the coordination of sub-contractors, as well as assisting with overall project performance, planning, budgeting, the vetting and choosing of sub-contractors, and monitoring their performance. The Supervisor will ensure site performance of all aspects of construction activities from launch to completion, .
Duties & Responsibilities To perform in a timely manner:
- Collaborate with project managers, consultants, sub-contractors and other stakeholders to determine project needs
- Together with the Project Manager, establish the project schedule and milestone dates.
- Develop and implement Site Safety Plan that complies with regulatory and local norms.
- Plan short term construction activity plans in accordance with project schedule
- Estimate costs and maintain project budget
- Supervise staff and sub-contractors, and coordinate activities for maximum performance of the project goals and charter
- Manage site assets and their required maintenance for optimal performance, safety and compliance.
- Manage material stock and orders.
- Ensure the site is secure and safe during operating and idle hours.
- Maintain and keep up-to-date all site logs
- Ensure the site is kept safe, clean and orderly.
- Manage on-site issues and emergencies.
- Maintain all site reports and distribute at their required frequency to the applicable parties.
- Maintain good photographic history of activities and milestone progress, especially as it relates to any issues that may arise and conditions that exist at the time of inspections.
- Maintain company/client reporting in a timely manner and format consistent with company/client practices.
- Develop and maintain effective relationship with stakeholders and clients.
- Other duties as assigned.
Work Requirements
- Attendance at worksites during mobilization
- Possess valid drivers license in good standing
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification
- Any certification requirements that are site specific (ie. Working at Heights, any necessary Equipment Operator’s certificates, etc.).
Minimum Education:
- Construction trade certification
Minimum Experience:
- 10 years comprehensive construction management experience (preferably retail) with at least 5 years experience as a Construction Site Supervisor..
Skills, Knowledge and Proficiencies:
- Construction drawing interpretation
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint and Project)
- Adobe Acrobat
- Experience in computerized scheduling systems; Microsoft Project,
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD or AutoCAD Lite
- Risk assessment and mitigation/remediation
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills
- Robust interpersonal skills
- Leadership skills to drive a project team
- Ability to multitask and work independently
- Excellent communication skills – written and oral
Compensation: Commensurate with experience Pay: $2,500.00-$3,000.00 per week
