Since

September 2009, Whitecap has experienced remarkable growth, increasing production from 850 boe/d to over 365,000 boe/d. We have unconventional and conventional assets exclusively focused in Western Canada and the asset base includes the Weyburn EOR Project. As a majority owner and operator of the Weyburn EOR Project, annually we safely sequester approximately 1.5 million tonnes of CO2 making it a unique project within our portfolio.

We currently employ 1,200 people, including our valued contract staff.

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Contract Operator to support operations in the Karr North and Karr East areas. The successful candidate will possess extensive oil and gas operating experience and demonstrate strong leadership, troubleshooting, and mentoring capabilities. This role requires a highly motivated individual who can work independently while ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operations across multiple production facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Safely operate and maintain production facilities, multi-well pads, battery operations, compressor stations, and storage facilities.





Monitor well performance and optimize production activities.

Conduct routine inspections, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance activities.

Ensure accurate production reporting and data entry.

Respond effectively to operational issues and emergency situations.

Maintain compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards.

Support and mentor junior operations personnel.

Work collaboratively with field, maintenance, and engineering teams to achieve operational objectives.

Qualifications & Experience Required

Minimum 10 years of oil and gas operating experience.

In-depth knowledge of: multi-well pad operations, battery operations, compressor stations, well performance optimization, storage facilities.

Experience with SCADA systems and Prodman production entry.

Valid driver's license and ability to operate a tooled truck.

Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a demanding workload.

Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Ability to mentor and develop junior operations staff.

Demonstrated ability to remain calm and effective during emergency response situations and operational upsets.

Preferred Qualifications





Leadership Training Certificate or equivalent leadership development training.

Previous experience in a senior operator or leadership role.
