Position Overview

Kelowna Yacht Club is looking for a motivated Cook to join our culinary team, supporting both our daily Galley operations and catering events.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a professional, team-focused kitchen and takes pride in producing consistent, high-quality food. The successful candidate will assist with preparation, service, and execution of both à la carte and catered events while maintaining our standards for quality, cleanliness, organization, and food safety.

Responsibilities

- Prepare and execute menu items according to standardized recipes, portions, and plating standards
- Support both daily Galley service and catered events
- Maintain consistent food quality and presentation
- Assist with prep, station setup, service, and kitchen organization
- Follow proper food handling, storage, rotation, and labelling procedures
- Help monitor inventory,



reduce waste, and communicate product shortages
- Maintain clean and organized prep, cooking, cooler, freezer, and storage areas
- Communicate effectively with culinary, front-of-house, and leadership teams
- Work calmly and efficiently during busy service periods

What We're Looking For

- 2–3 years of professional kitchen experience preferred
- FoodSafe Certification
- Culinary certification or Red Seal is an asset
- Knowledge of various cooking techniques and ingredients
- Strong organization and time-management skills
- Positive attitude and team-first mentality
- Dependable, qualified, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
