What You Will Do:
Regulatory:
- Support the creation of applications, proposals and responses to regulatory bodies.
- Assist with annual regulatory and compliance tasks, including energy reporting, insurance renewals, permit renewals, and inspections.
- Support applications for grants and tax credits for upcoming green technology projects.
Design:
- Assist in the engineering design review of new district energy utilities, connected buildings, and future expansions.
- Support the feasibility study of alternate energy sources and existing DEU expansions.
- Review energy modelling and hourly data for heating and cooling.
Operations:
- Track system performance and improve operational efficiency.
- Assist in exercises to reduce energy consumption and replace aging equipment across Onni’s existing portfolio.
- Support the accounting team with reviewing monthly meter consumption data, creation of purchase orders, and invoice approvals.
- Document and maintain internal operations processes, procedures, and standards.
- Respond to requests from various internal departments, including but not limited to accounting, property management, sales, development, construction, etc.
- Travel to site as required.
What You Will Bring:
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in engineering, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 1-2 years of experience in utilities, energy, or real estate is an asset; recent graduates with relevant practicum or co-op experience will also be considered.
- Registration as an Engineer-In-Training with EGBC would be considered an asset.
- Working knowledge of boilers, chillers, heat pumps, cooling towers, pumps, BACnet, and related mechanical/electrical systems,
with a strong willingness to learn.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Salary Range:
$65000-85000
