We’re growing and looking to add experienced dance instructors to our team.

Ottawa Dance Academy is looking for experienced instructors to teach Acro, Jazz and/or Hip Hop classes at recreational and competitive levels.

We’re looking for teachers with a strong technical background who can create engaging classes, work well with different age groups, and help dancers develop their technique, confidence and performance skills.

Requirements

- Minimum 2 years of dance teaching experience
- Strong technical background in Acro, Jazz and/or Hip Hop
- Experience teaching different age groups and skill levels
- Experience choreographing recreational and/or competitive routines
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to confidently demonstrate movement and provide technical corrections
- Reliable, organized and professional
- Recognized dance teaching certifications such as ADAPT, CDTA, Acrobatic Arts, RAD or equivalent are considered a strong asset
- For Acro instructors, a recognized Acro teaching certification is required

What You’ll Do
- Plan and teach weekly classes
- Teach technique, conditioning, flexibility, choreography and performance skills
- Work with dancers ranging from beginner to competitive levels
- Prepare lesson plans and class material throughout the season
- Choreograph recreational and competitive routines
- Prepare dancers for competitions, showcases, recitals and end of season performances
- Provide clear and constructive feedback
- Maintain a positive, structured and professional studio environment




- Support dancer development throughout the season
- Collaborate with studio staff and communicate professionally with parents when required
