We are seeking a collaborative Director of Finance to lead financial operations and strengthen the systems that support high-quality, trauma-informed care.

The Role The Director of Finance, reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, will lead the finance team and oversee financial operations, purchasing, vendor relationships, and asset acquisition. Working closely with the Chief Operations Officer, this role will align financial and operational systems with the needs of our clients, staff, and programs. The organization partners with an external accounting firm for financial statement preparation and specialized accounting support.



The Director of Finance will work closely with these partners while leveraging internal reporting and AI-supported tools to enhance financial analysis and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the finance team, setting clear priorities, responsibilities, and timelines.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable, billing, collections, payments, and cash requirements.
- Work with Payroll and Human Resources to review and approve accurate, timely payroll.
- Support budget development, spending oversight, financial policies, and internal controls.
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate pricing, payment terms, and service agreements.
- Coordinate equipment, technology, furnishings, vehicle, and other asset purchases for staff and programs.
- Collaborate with the COO and program leaders to improve financial and operational processes.
- Work with the Senior AI and Business Transformation team on automation, reporting, and system improvements.
- Coordinate documentation for funders, external accountants, and audits, and address financial concerns promptly.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support organizational growth and strategic initiatives.
- Develop and monitor key financial performance indicators.
- Present financial information and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Identify financial risks and opportunities and implement mitigation strategies.





Qualifications

- Relevant post-secondary education or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or financial operations.
- Minimum 2 years of leadership experience managing staff or teams.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, cash flow, payroll, purchasing, accounts payable and receivable, and internal controls.
- Experience with vendor negotiations and relationship management.
- Strong organizational, communication, and collaborative problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with financial software, Excel, and digital systems, including the ability to use AI-supported tools.
- Experience in developmental services, residential care, or health care is an asset.
- CPA designation is an asset, but is not required.

Pay: $85,000.00 per year
