AMJ Halifax is looking for a reliable, professional, and experienced Driver / Mover to join our operations team.

This is a hands-on position. We are looking for someone who is comfortable both driving and working alongside the crew. Our operations include household moving, home delivery, commercial moves, and local transportation throughout Halifax and Nova Scotia.

Responsibilities

- Safely operate company vehicles for local moving and delivery assignments
- Load, unload, wrap, and protect household goods, furniture, and commercial items
- Work hands-on with the moving crew — this is not a driving-only position
- Use moving equipment including dollies, straps, blankets, ramps, and other equipment
- Complete required paperwork and mobile scanning
- Communicate professionally with customers and the operations team
- Protect customers’ property and maintain a high standard of customer service
- Follow company safety procedures and safe driving practices
- Assist with warehouse and other operational duties when required
- Be flexible with daily assignments based on operational needs

Requirements
- Valid Class 5, Class 3, or Class 1 driver’s licence (Nova Scotia or equivalent provincial licence)
- Clean and acceptable driving record
- Professional driving experience
- Moving, furniture delivery, home delivery, cube van, or 5-ton truck experience is a strong asset
- Ability to regularly lift and carry 75+ lbs
- Comfortable performing physical work throughout the day
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused




- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Able to work effectively as part of a team
- Flexible availability, including early mornings, longer days, and occasional weekends
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
- Applicants on a temporary work permit must have at least two years of valid work authorization remaining

Compensation We offer flexible compensation options depending on experience, licence class, and the nature of the work:
- Hourly: $23.00–$30.00 per hour, based on experience and licence class
- Commission: Commission-based compensation is available for experienced professional drivers/movers
- Compensation structure can be discussed during the interview
