About Us

Chilliwack Learning Centre is a licensed child care program dedicated to creating a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging environment where children can learn, explore, and grow. We offer programs for children ages 3–5, as well as Out of School Care for kindergarten and school-aged children.

We are currently seeking a reliable, energetic, and responsible Early Childhood Education Assistant (ECEA) to join our Out of School Care team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with school-aged children and is looking for a weekday split-shift schedule.

Position Details

- Schedule: Monday–Friday, split shifts
- Morning shift: Approximately 7:00 AM–8:30 AM
- Afternoon shift: Approximately 1:00 PM–5:00/6:00 PM, depending on when the last child is picked up
- Start date: As soon as possible
- Location: Chilliwack, BC
- Compensation: Competitive hourly wage based on qualifications and experience

Hours may vary depending on enrolment, operational needs, and children's pickup times. Additional hours may be available to provide coverage for staff absences, vacations, and career development days.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise and engage with children in a safe, positive, and inclusive environment.
- Support daily routines, play-based activities, and age-appropriate learning experiences.
- Walk children safely to and from nearby schools, following centre procedures.
- Assist with school drop-offs and pickups, including using the centre vehicle where required and authorized.
- Support children's emotional, social, physical, and cognitive development.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and team members.
- Assist with planning and implementing engaging activities.
- Follow all childcare licensing requirements and centre health and safety policies.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment.

Qualifications




- Valid Early Childhood Education Assistant (ECEA) certificate recognized by the BC ECE Registry.
- Current First Aid certificate, or willingness to obtain one.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check, including the vulnerable sector screening, as required.
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible, with a genuine interest in working with school-aged children.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable working a Monday–Friday split-shift schedule.
- Reliable transportation to and from the centre.
- A valid driver's licence and willingness to drive the centre vehicle, if required, are considered assets.
- Preference will be given to candidates who live in Chilliwack or within a reasonable commuting distance.
