EDUCATION ASSISTANT – CARE Campus We are looking to hire a continuous 28.0 hour per week Education Assistant at the Centre for Adolescent Responsibility Education (CARE) Campus in Lethbridge.

The Education

Assistant provides support to children with a wide range of needs in the learning environment under the direction and supervision of the Inclusive Education Lead, the classroom teacher, and the principal. CARE is a grades 7-9 Outreach program that focuses on meeting the needs of students who have been identified as being at risk, as well as youth with challenging behaviours and/or complex social/emotional needs. Through team-oriented team-based structure, the Education Assistant will carry out tasks as assigned by both the daily and program supervisors.

EDUCATION Education Assistant Certificate and/or Diploma or Rehabilitation Practitioner Certificate and/or Diploma or equivalent

- WORK EXPERIENCE ~ At least one-year experience working with students with special programming needs.





First

Aid training

- Knowing ASL is considered an asset
- Supporting Individuals through Valued Attachments Training (SIVA) Certificate
- Training and experience with augmentative communication systems;

Experience working on academic goals with students who have multiple barriers. Understands that it is of paramount importance to maintain confidentiality of all aspects of the school community

- Willing to participate in new learning opportunities
- The starting rate for this position is $25.26 per hour.
