As an Educational Assistant, you will work alongside teachers, program coordinators, therapists, and other professionals to support student learning, communication, social development, independence, and well-being. Position Summary The Educational Assistant (EA) is responsible for supporting the classroom team by providing one-to-one and small-group support to students while utilizing principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and evidence-based educational practices. The EA supports learning, communication, social development, behavioural success, academic achievement, and life skills acquisition.
As a collaborative member of the classroom team, the Educational Assistant implements individualized goals and objectives developed through each student's educational programming and works closely with teachers, coordinators, and specialized support professionals to promote student success.
Educational Assistants provide learning supports and supervision to students within their assigned classroom while contributing to a safe, positive,
and inclusive school environment.
Reporting to the Program Coordinator (in high-ratio classrooms) or the Classroom Coordinator (in low-ratio classrooms), the Educational Assistant is a valued member of the Education Team.

- Qualifications
Successful candidates may possess:
- A passion for working with children and youth.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Experience working with students with autism or diverse learning needs is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) is an asset.
- Ability to remain calm, flexible, and solution-focused in a dynamic environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Commitment to creating positive and supportive learning experiences.
Required
- Police Information Check including Vulnerable Sector Search.
- Intervention Record Check.
Preferred Assets
- First Aid and CPR Certification.
- Experience working within a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
- Post-secondary education in education, psychology, child development, disability studies, behaviour analysis, or a related field.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $20.71 per hour
Expected hours: 70.0 per week
