The complexity teacher would be working directly with classroom teachers to address immediate classroom challenges and support diverse student needs. This role focuses on in-the-moment problem‑solving, modelling effective strategies, and strengthening inclusive practices across the school.
Key Responsibilities may include
- Co-plan and co-teach with classroom teachers to respond to real-time classroom complexity and student needs.
- Provide immediate support for behavioural, academic, or mental‑health concerns using effective de‑escalation and intervention strategies.
- Support programming for students who are English as an Additional Language learners.
- Deliver targeted academic or behavioural interventions through whole-class, small-group, or individual support while prioritizing student inclusion in classroom environments.
- Collaborate closely with the school’s multidisciplinary team (MDT) to identify, plan, and implement targeted supports.
- Model strategies and engage in shared problem‑solving with teachers and Educational Assistants in complex situations.
- Serve as an additional professional in the building, complementing—not replacing—classroom teachers.
- Complete school-level reporting and documentation as required.
