1. Project Lifecycle Management • Oversee and supervise execution of multiple engineering projects to ensure achievement of schedule, quality, cost, and safety (QHSE) objectives.
- Lead feasibility assessment, budget preparation, resource planning, and risk identification in the project's early stages.
- Regularly review project progress reports and coordinate resolution of major technical, schedule, and contractual disputes involving cross-departmental or external contractors.
- Team Leadership & Development • Manage, guide, and evaluate the performance of construction teams (including sub-contractors, tradesmen, engineers, and employees).
- Develop and implement a team training program to enhance the team's capabilities in project management, technical standards, and leadership. Foster a positive, inclusive, safety-focused team culture. 3.

Local

Compliance and Quality Control • Ensure all engineering designs and construction comply with the Nova Scotia Building Code, National Building Code (NBC), and local municipal regulations.

- Establish and maintain a rigorous QA/QC system, leading internal audits and corrective actions.
- Maintain effective communication with local regulatory authorities, municipal departments, and third-party inspection agencies to ensure smooth compliance approval processes.
- Vendor and Contract Management • Lead the engineering bidding process; evaluate and select qualified subcontractors, suppliers, and external consultants.
- Manage engineering contracts, review payment requests, and handle change orders and claims.

QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.





Professional Licensing: Professional Engineer license (P.Eng, Engineers Nova Scotia) required if this role signs off on engineering design, QA/QC, or building code compliance. If the successful candidate is not yet P.Eng licensed in Nova Scotia, all such sign-offs must be performed under the direct supervision of a licensed P.Eng until licensure is obtained.

Work Experience: At least 8–10 years of experience in the engineering field, including a minimum of 3–5 years in engineering management or senior project management roles.

Work Authorization: Candidate must already be a Canadian citizen or hold a valid Canadian permanent resident card at the time of application, and must be based in or willing to relocate independently to Halifax, NS. DDI will not sponsor a work permit, LMIA, or any other work-authorization pathway for this position. Candidates who do not meet this requirement at time of application are not eligible, regardless of other qualifications.

Technical Skills: Proficient in project management software (MS Project, Primavera P6) and construction/engineering design software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.).

Compliance Knowledge: Working knowledge of Nova Scotia and Canadian construction regulations, environmental requirements, and occupational health and safety (OHS) standards, including Nova Scotia Occupational Health and Safety Act obligations for on-site "competent person" duties.

Language: English required (spoken and written). No French language requirement as Nova Scotia is an English speaking province.

Pay: $100,000.00-$150,000.00 per year
