Machine Operator/Construction Labourer (Travel-Required)

Our team is growing, and we’re seeking a skilled Machine Operator/Construction Labourer for onsite land preparations.
The Role
This is a highly physical, hands-on role that combines heavy site preparation and machine operation in the field with some general duties in our Port Kells warehouse. You will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating various types of heavy machinery, such as skid steers, excavators, packers and any other equipment necessary for land clearing, grading, and preparation. This is a demanding job that requires machine operation, heavy lifting, frequent travel, and a strong work ethic.
This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate and maintain machinery, such as skid steers, excavators, packers and any other equipment for land preparations.
- Travel to and prepare site for modular homes including clearing and grading land
- Perform heavy manual labour including shoveling, packing, and jackhammering.
- Dig trenches for underground utilities.
- Assemble forms for concrete pads, tie rebar, and assist in the preparation and pouring of foundation walls.
- Assist in home placement and installation.
- Safely drive company F550 trucks and tow loaded trailers to transport equipment, materials, and modular components to various sites.
- Use of power and hand tools to cut and install materials.
- Collaborate with other trades, such as roofers, electricians, and plumber to coordinate work activities and be willing to assist if needed.
- Perform general tasks in warehouse, run errands, and pick up/deliver materials and equipment from suppliers as needed when not on-site.
- Follow safety protocols, including proper PPE use and tool handling.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensure proper storage of materials and tools and disposal of waste.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 3 years of proven experience operating excavators and skid steers, combined with hands-on construction experience
- Must be confident operating equipment safely on a job site
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
- Willingness to travel around to worksites including Lower Mainland, Interior BC, and Sunshine Coast
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work tasks.
- Attention to details and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with the use of Site Docs.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects.
- Willingness to drive vehicles such as F550s and tow trailers as needed.
Certification/Licenses
- Valid driver’s licence (required)
Experience:
- Machine Operating: 3 years (required)
- Construction: 2 years (preferred)

Salary:
- $30.00 - $38.00 (based on experience)

Job Type: Full-time Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
