Job Posting: Experienced AV & Smart Home Installer / Programmer

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Experienced AV and Smart Home Installer / Programmer to join our team on a contract basis. In this role, you will be responsible for the physical installation, wiring, rack building, and advanced programming of integrated residential and commercial systems.

The ideal candidate has a strong technical background in high-end audio-visual distribution, home automation platforms, motorized shading, and access control infrastructure. If you take pride in clean wiring, meticulous rack layouts, and seamless user experiences, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

· System Installation & Integration: Install and configure multi-room audio/video systems, centralized lighting control, motorized shades, smart thermostats, and IP networks.

· Rack Building & Cable Management: Design, build, and wire clean, qualified equipment racks with precise labeling, proper ventilation, and cable dressing.

· Programming & Commissioning: Program and troubleshoot automation platforms (e.g., Control4, Crestron, or equivalent), touch panels, universal remotes, and lighting scenes.

· Access Control & Security: Install and test low-voltage infrastructure, including electronic strikes, electromagnetic locks, keypads, and surveillance cameras.

· Client Handover & Support: Provide clear, professional system demonstrations to clients upon project completion and resolve post-installation service tickets efficiently.





· Site Management: Maintain a clean workspace on job sites, adhere to safety regulations, and coordinate effectively with project managers and other trades.

Qualifications & Requirements

· Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in residential or commercial AV integration and smart home automation.

· Technical Proficiency:

· Proven experience wiring and programming automation systems (Control4 certification or equivalent is a strong asset).

· Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (VLANs, PoE switches, Wi-Fi configuration).

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and architectural PDF floor plans.

· Tools & Transport: Must possess a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and your own standard set of hand/power tools.

· Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and a professional, customer-facing demeanor.
