Experienced Landscaper / Lead Hand – $20–$30/hr

About Us

Mr. Greens Sports & Landscapes builds high-end outdoor spaces across the Lower Mainland — landscape construction, hardscaping, artificial turf, composite decking, and Laykold tennis, pickleball and basketball courts for residential and commercial clients. We're growing and need experienced landscapers who can run a crew and take ownership of a job site.

The Role

This is not an entry-level position. We're looking for a skilled, hands-on landscaper who can work as a Lead Hand: read a plan, set out the day, direct a small crew, and deliver clean, high-quality work on schedule. You'll work in the field alongside your crew and be the main point of contact between the site and management.

What You'll Do

- Lead and direct a crew of 2–4 on daily tasks; keep the job moving and the standard high
- Lay out and build hardscapes: pavers, slabs, retaining walls, base prep, grading and compaction
- Install artificial turf, sod, irrigation, drainage, plantings, and composite decking
- Prep sites for sports courts (excavation, base, forming)
- Operate mini-excavators, skid steers, plate compactors and power tools safely
- Drive company trucks and tow trailers; load and secure tools and materials
- Run toolbox talks, follow WorkSafeBC rules, and keep sites clean and safe
- Communicate progress, material needs and issues to management; interact professionally with clients

What We're Looking For





- 3+ years of landscape construction / hardscape experience (please list the types of projects you've built)
- Previous lead hand, foreman or crew lead experience strongly preferred
- Confident setting out grades, levels and layouts and reading basic drawings
- Experience operating mini-excavator and skid steer
- Valid BC driver's licence (Class 5) with clean abstract; trailer towing experience
- Reliable, punctual, and able to lead by example
- Able to work outdoors in all weather and lift up to 70 lbs
- Own basic hand tools and CSA-approved safety boots

Assets

- Artificial turf, paver, or retaining wall installation experience
- Irrigation and drainage experience
- Sports court or concrete forming experience
- First Aid certification
