Tyrod Industries Ltd. has an immediate opening for a Field Industrial Sandblaster to support projects at customer and industrial sites. In this role, you will prepare and sandblast structural steel, piping, valves, and related components to specified standards. Work may take place outdoors, in remote locations, and in varying weather and site conditions.

The successful candidate will have previous industrial sandblasting experience, be familiar with applicable surface-preparation standards, and demonstrate strong attention to detail. This physically demanding role requires the ability to safely lift 50 lb bags and work extended shifts as project schedules require. When not sandblasting, the position will assist with painting and coating activities, including material handling, masking, equipment setup, and paint mixing.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES

- Travel to customer and industrial sites and comply with all site-specific safety, orientation, and access requirements
- Prepare structural steel, piping, valves, and other components for coating by washing, sanding, masking, and abrasive blasting
- Complete blasting,



coating, and painting tasks in accordance with project specifications and applicable surface-preparation standards
- Set up, operate, inspect, clean, and maintain blasting equipment, compressors, blast pots, hoses, air systems, and dust-control equipment
- Perform work in temporary enclosures, confined spaces, at heights, or outdoors when required and when properly trained and authorized
- Mix and apply coatings in accordance with manufacturer specifications under the direction of the painter or supervisor
- Handle materials safely using approved rigging practices, forklifts, and manual lifting techniques
- Complete daily equipment inspections, field-level hazard assessments, and required quality-control or production documentation
- Identify and report hazards, equipment concerns, quality issues, and changes in site conditions
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas, including containment and waste-control areas
- Read and follow project specifications, job procedures, safety documentation, and supervisor instructions
- Inspect completed work and promptly report completion or deficiencies to the field supervisor
- Work cooperatively with the field crew and assist with other project duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS





- Previous industrial sandblasting or coating experience is preferred
- Working knowledge of applicable NACE surface-preparation standards
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work safely in physically demanding field conditions and lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to travel to project sites and work extended hours, shift work, weekends, or overtime as required
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence with a clear driver’s abstract
- Current CSTS, WHMIS, H2S Alive, Confined Space, Fall Protection, and other site-required safety certifications are assets
- Forklift and aerial work platform certification are assets
- Familiarity with blasting and coating equipment, including routine inspection and maintenance
- Must be able to pass pre-employment and site-access drug and alcohol testing
- Clear oral and written communication skills
- Strong organization, time-management, and problem-solving skills
- Consistent use of safe work practices and required personal protective equipment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a fast-paced field team

A competitive compensation package will be offered based on experience, qualifications, and level of training. LOA and travel are available for eligible field assignments, along with applicable overtime.

Pay: From $36.00 per hour
