Join the Vernon/North Okanagan Detachment as a Front Counter Clerk, providing essential reception and complaint handling services.
Your role will involve issuing legal processes and assisting the public with police information and regulations. This is a development opportunity under the Senior Manager, Municipal Support Services. As a Front Counter Clerk, you will independently manage inquiries, document complaints, and guide clients on various police matters. Your contributions ensure a well-informed community in compliance with local laws and regulations. Key Responsibilities:
- Issue legal processes and assist with police information
- Document complaints in PRIME and assess reported offences
- Provide guidance on court procedures and bylaw inquiries
- Maintain detachment security and escort visitors as needed
- Process and return found property to rightful owners
Requirements:
- Certificate in Office Administration or related field
- Two years' experience in police/public service workplace
- Knowledge of Criminal Code and Municipal Bylaws
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and office equipment
- Satisfactory Police Information Check and RCMP clearance
