Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and energetic General Labourer / Painter to join our steel manufacturing team. In this role, you will assist with various production tasks, including painting, assembly, and operating mechanical equipment. Your hands-on approach and mechanical aptitude will contribute to the efficient fabrication of steel components, supporting our commitment to quality and safety.

Responsibilities

- Prepare steel surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, or grinding using hand tools and power tools
- Apply primers, paints, coatings, and protective finishes using a variety of modalities, including brushes, rollers, spray equipment, and other approved application methods.
- Assist with the assembly of steel parts using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment as needed
- Operate machinery such as overhead cranes safely to move and position materials
- Inspect surfaces and finished products for defects, coverage, consistency,



and overall quality.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency
- Assist other production teams with general labour duties as required.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment as required.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to dust, noise, fumes, paint, and varying temperatures.
- Ability to wear required PPE, including respiratory protection where applicable.

Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience in steel manufacturing, industrial painting, construction, or general labour is an asset.
- Experience with industrial painting or surface preparation is preferred.
- Familiarity with brushes, rollers, spray equipment, grinders, sanders, and other hand or power tools is an asset.
