REVOLT Hair Shop is an independent, inclusive salon in the heart of Cabbagetown where individuality, creativity and self-expression are celebrated.

We believe great hair has no gender, age or identity. Our goal is to create a space where everyone feels welcome, respected and comfortable being themselves — both in our chairs and behind them.

We’re building a collaborative team of stylists who care about their craft, their clients and the community around them. We value different perspectives, styles and specialties, and we want our team members to have the freedom to develop their own creative identities.

The opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Hairstylist to join the REVOLT team.

We’re open to different working arrangements depending on your experience and goals. You can join our salon team or rent a chair and operate your own business within REVOLT.

Whether you already have an established clientele or are continuing to build your book, we’re looking for someone who wants to work in a professional, welcoming and creative environment.

What you’ll do

- Provide professional cuts, colour, styling, blowouts and treatments tailored to each client.
- Offer thoughtful consultations and create looks that reflect each client’s hair, lifestyle and personal style.
- Provide an inclusive, judgment-free experience for every client.
- Build strong, lasting client relationships.
- Maintain a clean, organized workstation and follow professional sanitation standards.
- Recommend professional products and additional services when they genuinely benefit the client.
- Stay current on hair trends, techniques,



colour and continuing education.
- Collaborate with the REVOLT team on salon initiatives, content and community events.
- Contribute to a positive, respectful and supportive salon culture.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone with qualified hairstyling experience, strong technical skills and a genuine passion for the industry. You should be confident communicating with clients, reliable and organized, and committed to creating an excellent experience for clients of all backgrounds, identities, hair types and personal styles.

An existing clientele is an asset, particularly for chair-rental applicants, but it isn’t the only thing we’re looking for. Personality, professionalism, creativity and fit with the REVOLT culture matter too.

Already have your own clientele and want more independence?

REVOLT also offers the option to rent a chair, giving established stylists the opportunity to run their own business from our Cabbagetown location while working alongside a creative salon community.
