URGENT HIRING – ENGLISH & CANTONESE-SPEAKING DAY CAREGIVER

Location: Grande Prairie, Alberta

Position: Cantonese-Speaking Respite Caregiver / Support Worker

Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday – Day Shifts

Alberta Home Care and Disabilities Services Inc. is urgently hiring a compassionate, reliable, and experienced caregiver to support a client in Grande Prairie.

We are looking for someone who:

- Speaks English and Cantonese
- Has previous caregiving, HCA, or support-worker experience
- Has experience assisting clients with exercise and physical activities
- Is patient, compassionate, reliable, and dependable
- Can provide protected and respectful person-centred support
- Is available to work Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday during the day
- Has reliable transportation to travel to the client's home
- Has strong communication and observation skills

Main Responsibilities
- Provide respite care, companionship, and supervision.
- Assist and encourage the client with appropriate exercise and physical activities.
- Support the client with daily routines and activities as required.
- Encourage independence and participation in appropriate activities.
- Ensure the client's safety and well-being.
- Follow the client's individualized care plan.
- Monitor and report changes in the client's condition or needs.
- Complete accurate shift documentation.




- Communicate professionally with the client, family, and agency.

Requirements
- Previous caregiving, HCA, personal support, or disability-support experience.
- English and Cantonese language skills.
- Experience assisting clients with exercise or physical activities.
- First Aid & CPR certification.
- Vulnerable Sector Check / Police Information Check.
- Reliable transportation to the client's home in Grande Prairie.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Reliable, punctual, patient, and professional.

Schedule

Day shifts only:

- Monday
- Tuesday
- Wednesday
- Friday

This is an urgent position, and we are looking for someone who is available to start soon.
