Make safety the standard - not the exception.
At Go Integrated Group of Companies, health and safety is more than a policy or compliance requirement. It is a core part of who we are. We are looking for a proactive, committed Health & Safety Specialist to help lead a prevention-first culture across our operations.
Reporting to the Head of Human Resources, you will be a visible and trusted safety partner to Operations, frontline supervisors, senior leadership, employees, and the Joint Health and Safety Committee. Your work will help identify hazards before they become incidents, strengthen accountability, and ensure every employee gets home safely at the end of the day.
If you are passionate about turning safety data into action, empowering people through training and building safer workplaces across warehouse, transportation, driver and distribution operations, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
As our Health & Safety Specialist, you will:
- Make the reduction and elimination of preventable workplace accidents and incidents your central priority.
- Build strong partnerships across all divisions to identify hazards, implement corrective actions, and strengthen ownership of safety.
- Lead and administer the company’s end-to-end WSIB claims process, including accurate documentation, reporting, and effective return-to-work planning.
- Investigate incidents and near-misses, identify root causes, and recommend practical, systemic solutions.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve proactive health and safety programs and preventative controls.
- Conduct hazard assessments and safety audits across operational sites, including warehouses, docks, vehicles, driver facilities, and Amazon stations.
- Analyze accident, incident, and near-miss trends to identify opportunities for prevention.
- Prepare quarterly incident and accident reports for Joint Health and Safety Committee and Operations review, as well as trend reports for Executive Management.
- Partner with the Risk Manager to develop and monitor leading safety indicators—not just lagging results.
- Ensure compliance with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, and applicable regulations.
- Design and deliver safety training for employees, supervisors, and managers, including new-hire safety orientations.
- Maintain accurate health and safety records and documentation for internal and external audits.
- Monitor compliance with PPE and safety equipment requirements, including CSA-approved safety footwear.
- Liaise with the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development when required.
- Serve as the Employer Representative on the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
- Act as a key advisor to station leadership and employees, championing best-in-class health and safety practices.
- Exercise the authority to stop unsafe work or require immediate correction of non-compliant conditions.
What you bring
- A post-secondary diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related discipline.
- A minimum of two years of experience in a health and safety role, ideally in logistics, warehousing, transportation, distribution, or a similar operational environment.
- Strong working knowledge of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act,
the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, and applicable regulations.
- Demonstrated experience with hazard assessments, safety audits, incident investigations, and corrective action planning.
- Robust analytical skills and the ability to translate safety data into clear, preventative action.
- Excellent communication, presentation, coaching, and facilitation skills.
- The confidence to work with employees and leaders at every level and influence positive change.
- CRSP designation and Ontario health and safety certification are strongly preferred.
What to expect
- A dynamic mix of office-based analysis, reporting, training, and hands-on site visits.
- Regular travel across multiple divisions and operational locations.
- Work in warehouse, dock, vehicle, and driver environments, with required PPE when on operational floors.
- The opportunity to lead safety programs, resources, and decisions across the organization.
- Be someone who does not wait for an incident to reveal a problem. You will help us find the risk first, address it at the source, and continuously raise the standard for health and safety across our organization.
