This non-pensionable allowance is paid on an hourly basis for all hours worked at the basic rate of pay.Situated along Lesser Slave Lake, it offers excellent outdoor recreation, strong community infrastructure, and access to regional services.As an Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) with ALTA Paramedic Health (APH), you will assess emergency scenes and patients and may transport ill or injured individuals from emergency scenes and between facilities.
You will provide patient care by administering medications, using advanced life support (ALS) airway adjuncts, and delivering electrical therapy. You may also lead the ALS team in providing clinical care during patient transport or at emergency scenes.You will support the readiness of vehicles by ensuring ambulances and other transport units, including non-emergent transport (NET) vehicles, are properly stocked, maintained, and equipped in accordance with APH standards.The working environment for an ACP is demanding and includes exposure to heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind, moving traffic, and industrial and agricultural equipment. Regular Full Time Length of Shift in weeks: Shifts per cycle: 28 Days Off: As Per Rotation Emergency Health Services Classification: Advanced Care Paramedic (2190) Union: HSAA Facility PROF/TECH Unit and Program: ALTA Paramedic Health Multi-Site: Not Applicable Employee Class: Regular Full Time Hours per Shift: 12 Length of Shift in weeks: Shifts per Cycle: 28 Shift Pattern: Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends, On Call Days Off: As Per Rotation Non-restricted registration in good standing with the Alberta College of Paramedics (ACOP) as an Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP).test, verified by a certificate from Lifemark, is required for candidates who do not currently hold a clinical position within ALTA Paramedic Health (APH) (including VESST, Clinical Educator, EMR, PCP, ACP, and Community Paramedic roles).
E. test must be completed no more than six (6) months prior to the date of application. APH may verify results with Lifemark to confirm successful completion. Preference is given to those with previous EMS experience in a metro, suburban, rural, or interfacility workplace and in other areas of Health Care and Public Safety.
Completion of additional post-secondary programs is considered an asset. Applicants must provide proof of program completion for any post-secondary education or training at the time of application for it to be considered during the selection process. A satisfactory criminal record check and/or Vulnerable Sector Search is required prior to your first day of work.
