Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated Hydraulic Cylinder Assembler / Welder – Float Position to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling hydraulic cylinders and performing welding operations with precision and efficiency. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where your skills directly contribute to creating durable, high-performance hydraulic components.

Responsibilities

- Assemble hydraulic cylinders from components through final assembly
- Install seals, pistons, rods, glands, bearings and other cylinder components
- Occasionally run an automated welding machine.
- MIG weld hydraulic cylinder components, including barrels, ports, bases and related components
- Perform cylinder tear-downs, repairs and rebuilds as required
- Read and work from manufacturing drawings and work orders
- Check components using calipers, micrometers and other measuring equipment
- Perform or assist with hydraulic pressure and leak testing
- Inspect welds,



components and completed cylinders for quality
- Troubleshoot assembly, fit-up and basic hydraulic issues
- Move between welding, assembly, testing and other production areas according to workload
- Maintain an organized and safe work area
- Follow established quality and safety procedures

Skills

- Proficiency in MIG welding and TIG welding techniques with a solid understanding of weld quality standards.
- Mechanical knowledge of hydraulic systems, schematics, and assembly procedures is an asset.
- Experience with blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings.
- Ability to operate fabrication tools such as plasma cutters, press brake machines, hand tools, power tools, and calipers.
- Basic math skills for measurements and component calculations.
- Construction or manufacturing experience preferred; forklift certification is a plus.
- Familiarity with schematics and technical documentation related to hydraulic systems is an asset.
