Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and reliable In-Home Caregiver to provide personalized care for an individual with diverse care needs in a private residential setting. The ideal candidate will assist with daily activities, medication management, and meal preparation while ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable environment that supports the client’s independence and overall well-being.

Core Responsibilities

- Personal Care: Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene, and mobility.
- Medication Assistance: Administer or remind the client to take prescribed medications accurately according to schedules and document care activities.
- Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious meals and snacks tailored to the client's specific dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Home Management: Perform light housekeeping duties, including cleaning the client's immediate living space, laundry, and maintaining a safe, hazard-free environment.
- Health Monitoring: Monitor the client’s physical and mental health status, track behavior changes, and communicate updates to family members or healthcare professionals.
- Mobility & Transfers: Assist with safe transfer techniques and physical mobility assistance as required.
- Companionship: Engage the client in meaningful conversation, light exercises, and cognitive activities to promote emotional and mental well-being.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Experience: Prior experience in home care, senior care,



or an assisted living environment is preferred but not required.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation diploma or equivalent.
- Skills: Strong communication skills, empathy, patience, and a professional demeanor.
- Physical Capabilities: Ability to perform light physical tasks, bending, and assisting with mobility.
- Language: English proficiency is required to ensure clear communication regarding health and safety.
- Criminal Record Check: A valid criminal record check will be required prior to hiring.

Perks & Work Conditions

- Vacation: 10 days of paid annual vacation (or 4% vacation pay accrued per pay period).
- Accommodation & Housing: Private, fully furnished bedroom provided at no cost to the employee within the employer’s residence. The bedroom features a private door with a secure lock and safety bolt on the inside.
- Live-In Disclosure: Please note that while a live-in arrangement is available to assist with care scheduling, living in the home is strictly optional and is not a condition of employment.
- No Deductions: No deductions from the employee's wages will be made for room, meals, or lodging expenses.
- Workplace Protection: The employee is fully covered under WorkSafeBC (provincial workers' compensation) and protected by the BC Employment Standards Act.
- Transportation: Public transportation is easily accessible nearby.

Pay: $24.50-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32.0 per week
