Tyrod Industries Ltd. has an immediate opening for a temporary position for an Industrial Painter for field facility painting. After this project there may be opportunities for additional work. In this role the painter will be responsible for coatings of piping, equipment and structural steel.

The work is primarily epoxy-polyurethane systems. All work will take place under the inspection of AMPP (NACE) certified coatings inspectors. We expect that the successful candidate for this role is familiar with industrial coating standards and is able to meet stringent application requirements including DFT's and visual aesthetics.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES

- Meticulous attention to detail for quality finished steel coatings
- Preparing all material require for coating including washing, sanding, masking and painting
- Complete coating / painting tasks for industrial piping, valves and structural steel
- Application of coatings DFT to meet client and manufacturer specifications
- Use, clean and maintain paint spray systems including conventional, airless, and plural




- Understanding of application techniques for two-part epoxies
- Mixing appropriate coatings as per manufacturers specifications
- Maintaining a clean and organized workspace
- Reading and understanding specifications and product data sheets
- Ability to identify hazards
- Work in a safe and conscientious manner
- Desire to learn new skills and be self-motivated
- Assist with other duties as required
- Work well with other team members of the coating facility, completes a visual inspection of finished work and reports to facility supervisor when complete

QUALIFICATIONS
- Red Seal Painter certification is an asset
- Requires close attention to detail
- Min. 2+ years of directly related industrial coating experience
- Adequate training in the application of industrial coatings preferred
- Experience applying epoxies & polyurethane
- Familiarity with all coating equipment and completion of regular maintenance
- Manufacturer specific applicator certifications (Stopaq, SPC, Denso etc) an asset
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License required
- Must be able to pass pre-employment and pre-access drug and alcohol testing
- Oral and written communication skills
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Applying safe work practices with proper PPE
- Ability to multi-task, and work in a quick paced, team-oriented environment

Compensation package will be offered based on experience and level of training.

Pay: From $36.00 per hour
