We are a leading heavy equipment rental company seeking a highly skilled and experienced Intermediate Accountant to join our dynamic team. As the Intermediate Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities of the company, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. This is a key leadership role that requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate financial information to stakeholders, ensuring the fiscal health of the organization.
Duties
- Prepare monthly bank, credit card, balance sheet, and GL reconciliations; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing, including journal entries, accruals, prepaid expenses, and financial statement preparation.
- Manage AP activities, including aging reports, payment runs, invoice coding, vendor reconciliations, and payment discrepancies.
- Support AR activities, including payment applications, customer reconciliations, deposits, adjustments, and aging reviews.
- Perform inventory reconciliations, costing, adjustments, and coordinate with operations to resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate general ledger records, supporting schedules, and accounting documentation.
- Assist with GST/HST, PST, tax filings, year-end working papers, and external audit requirements.
- Support monthly financial reporting, account analysis, variance reviews, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Maintain accounting systems, strengthen internal controls, and identify opportunities to improve accounting processes.
- Collaborate with other departments and provide accounting support across AP, AR, inventory, and general accounting functions.
- Perform other accounting and finance duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Minimum of 3 years of working experience in Canada, CPA Candiate or CPA preferred)
- Proven experience as a Intermediate Accountant or similar role
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in accounting software such and MS Excel
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Robust attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
- Solid understanding of budgeting, financial planning, and forecasting
- Experience managing a team, Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.

Pay: $63,000.00-$68,000.00 per year
