Job Title: Intermediate IT Auditor

Location: Remote within Canada

Overview

We are currently seeking Intermediate IT Auditors to support a Federal Government audit engagement focused on annual financial and information technology audits. This contract provides an chance to work alongside experienced audit professionals assessing IT General Controls (ITGCs), information systems, and audit processes within large-scale government organizations.

An active Government of Canada Reliability Clearance is mandatory, or candidates must be eligible (5 years in Canada) to obtain one.

Project Background This engagement supports annual audit activities conducted within the Federal Government environment. The successful consultants will assist audit teams by performing IT and systems audit work, evaluating IT General Controls (ITGCs), documenting audit findings, and supporting compliance with established audit standards and methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct interviews to obtain an understanding of IT General Controls (ITGCs)
- Obtain and analyze evidence related to the design, implementation, and operating effectiveness of ITGCs
- Document audit procedures and findings
- Identify and document weaknesses in control environments
- Complete assigned audit procedures and supporting work papers




- Coordinate information requests and responses from stakeholders
- Maintain audit documentation in accordance with established audit standards
- Respond to review comments and feedback from audit leadership
- Support audit teams throughout the engagement lifecycle

Mandatory Requirements

Candidates must demonstrate

Education

One of the following

- Degree or diploma in Finance or Accounting

OR

- Professional designation:
- CPA
- CA
- CMA
- CGA
- CIA
- CFE

Experience

- Minimum 24 months of financial audit experience
- Minimum 24 months of information technology and systems audit experience

Professional Certification Must hold one of the following:

- CPA
- CPA, CA
- CPA, CGA
- CPA, CMA
- CISA
- CISM
- CRISC
- CISSP

Ideal Background Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:

- IT Audit
- IT Risk & Controls
- Technology Assurance
- Internal Audit
- IT General Controls (ITGCs)
- Information Systems Auditing
- Enterprise Controls Testing
- Big 4 Audit or Advisory environments
