Social Media Specialist Primacorp Head

Office (Campus Support Centre), New Westminster, BC Schedule: Monday – Friday (Full‐Time) Paid Time Off (PTO): 2 weeks vacation / PTO Reports To: Head of Marketing The Social Media Specialist will plan, develop, and execute social media and content strategies in support of current marketing plans and revenue growth. You will be responsible for ensuring that content across all social channels and related web properties is on‐brand, engaging, and optimized for each audience, with a focus on growing awareness, engagement, and qualified inquiries. Ideal candidates are creative and analytical, process‐oriented, driven to succeed, and able to work both collaboratively and independently in a fast‐paced, multi‐brand environment.

Planning and executing always‐on and campaign‐based social media strategies that support brand, enrollment, and retention goals. Developing ongoing content (written, visual, and video) and initiatives for our current and emerging social channels (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, and other relevant platforms) and web properties, with an emphasis on engagement and retention of visitors and fans. Owning and maintaining a social content calendar aligned with broader marketing campaigns, seasonal recruitment cycles, and key events.

Developing, promoting, and driving positive brand sentiment and marketing strategies that ultimately contribute to online inquiries and applications. Defining and documenting standards and best practices for creating and maintaining social media content (tone of voice, visual guidelines, accessibility, frequency, etc.). Creating, updating, and modifying social media and web page content for multiple brands, ensuring consistency with brand guidelines.

Monitoring and listening to online conversations and reviews across the social web, including the competitive landscape, and providing regular insights and recommendations. Managing community interactions on social media (comments, messages, mentions, and reviews),



responding in a timely, professional manner and escalating issues in line with established protocols. Creating new social media initiatives and campaigns that are innovative, industry‐leading, and aligned with our audience's interests.

Acting as a knowledge resource and collaborating with web, SEO, and digital teams to make social channels and sites more interactive, engaging, user‐friendly, and conversion‐focused. Creating and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to source content (e.g., student stories, alumni success, campus events, employer and community partnerships). Partnering with campuses, Admissions, Student Services, and HR (as appropriate) to support recruitment, student engagement, alumni relations, and employer branding.

Supporting paid social media campaigns in collaboration with the broader marketing/digital team (briefing, creative input, tracking, and performance review). Using social media and web analytics tools to track KPIs (reach, engagement, CTR, leads, and conversions), and preparing regular performance reports with insights and recommendations for optimization. Ensuring that all content complies with brand standards, regulatory requirements, privacy and consent guidelines, and digital accessibility best practices (e.g., A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, English, or a related field, or comparable work experience. ~3–5 years of experience with online content production and management of brand social media channels (multi‐brand or multi‐location experience is an asset). ~ A minimum of 2 years' experience with professional copywriting and/or copy editing. ~ Hands‐on experience managing major social platforms (e.g.,



Meta/Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube) including publishing, community management, and analytics. ~ Experience planning and producing social‐first content, including short‐form vertical video (Reels, TikTok, Shorts), basic video editing, and simple graphic design (e.g., Experience with social media management and scheduling tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Later, Buffer or similar). ~ Experience with paid social media campaigns (Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, LinkedIn Ads) and/or collaboration with media/agency teams is an asset. ~ Experience with email marketing, blogging, and broader digital content is an asset. ~ Familiarity with keyword research, search engine marketing, and link‐building strategies is an asset. ~ Working knowledge of web analytics tools (e.g., Experience with one or more internet‐centric CMS systems and managing content for a network of standardized independent websites and social media accounts. ~ continually seeks to improve the quality and impact of work.

Excellent written, listening, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone and style to different brands and audiences. Proven ability to manage multiple ongoing projects, priorities, and deadlines, and deliver each on time and on budget. Strong creative thinking and design sense, with an eye for compelling social content and storytelling.

Solid analytical skills with great attention to detail, and the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable recommendations. Proficient in MS Office, internet browsers, and digital collaboration tools. Up‐to‐date knowledge of social media trends, platform best practices, and emerging tools within the digital and post‐secondary education landscape; Commitment to upholding brand standards, protecting reputation, and ensuring compliance with privacy, consent, and accessibility requirements in all social media activities.
