Salary: CA50,000 - 60,000 per year

Job Type: Full-time

Location: North York / Greater Toronto Area, ON

Work location: On-site at our North York office and at client sites across the GTA.

About NVTech

NVTech is a growing Managed Services Provider (MSP) serving businesses throughout the Greater Toronto Area. We support a wide variety of clients, from small professional offices to larger organizations, meaning no two days are exactly the same.

We are looking for a hands-on IT Support Technician to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 1–3 years of IT experience who enjoys solving problems, working directly with users, and handling the day-to-day support needs of our clients. You will work alongside experienced technicians who will help you develop your technical skills and take on more advanced responsibilities over time.

We value robust troubleshooting abilities and a genuine willingness to learn just as much as formal experience.

What You'll Be Doing

Your day-to-day work will involve a mix of remote support, phone support, and traveling to client locations throughout the GTA. Typical tasks include:

- Ticket Management: Picking up and responding to incoming support tickets, and answering client calls to communicate with users throughout the troubleshooting process.
- Hardware Setup: Setting up and deploying new Windows computers, laptops, printers, scanners, and other office equipment.
- Software Maintenance: Installing software, executing updates, and deploying security patches.
- Access Management: Setting up user accounts, passwords, permissions, and folder access.
- Application Support: Troubleshooting Microsoft 365 and standard Office applications.
- Networking: Providing first-line support for common network, Wi-Fi, VPN,

and connectivity issues.
- Diagnostics: Diagnosing and resolving a wide variety of hardware and software problems.
- On-Site Troubleshooting: Visiting client locations to troubleshoot hands-on issues, assist with IT projects, handle equipment deployments, and support office moves.
- Documentation: Following established procedures for common IT issues and thoroughly documenting your troubleshooting steps and solutions.
- Escalation & Updates: Keeping clients and the NVTech team informed about the status of outstanding issues, and escalating complex problems to senior members of the team.

What We're Looking For We need someone with a solid technical foundation who can work independently on common IT support issues. Required qualifications include:
- 1–3 years of IT support or help desk experience (or equivalent practical experience).
- Strong working knowledge of Windows 11.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (IP addresses, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi, and VPNs).
- Experience troubleshooting computers, printers, scanners, and peripherals.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Office.
- Strong problem-solving and time-management skills to prioritize multiple support requests.
- Professional, friendly approach with the ability to explain technical problems clearly to non-technical users.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from senior technicians.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation,

and the ability to travel to client locations throughout the GTA.

Communication Is Important This is a client-facing position. You will regularly speak with business owners, office managers, and employees who may not have a technical background. Being able to listen carefully, understand the problem, explain what you're doing, and communicate a solution clearly is an important part of the job.

Nice-to-Have Experience

If you have good fundamentals and the right attitude, we're happy to help you develop your skills. The following are assets, but not required:

- Windows Server and Active Directory
- Microsoft 365 administration and Microsoft Entra ID
- Group Policy
- Basic network administration and firewall troubleshooting (e.g., Sophos)
- Experience with monitoring, backup, or security tools (e.g., Zabbix, Veeam, Cloudflare Zero Trust)
- Managed service provider (MSP) experience
- Familiarity with RMM tools, ticketing systems, and documentation platforms (e.g., BookStack)
- CompTIA A+, Network+, or other relevant IT certifications

Additional Details
- Compensation: 50,000 - 60,000, depending on experience and technical ability.
- Schedule: Generally Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, including a 1-hour lunch.
- After-Hours: Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for scheduled projects or urgent client issues.
- Work Environment: Primarily on-site at our office and client locations, though occasional work from home may be possible depending on workload and circumstances.
- Travel: Travel to client sites is required; mileage is reimbursed.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move IT equipment when required.

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
