Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Carpenter to join our growing team at Mender Group Inc. Most work is located on the west side of Edmonton, across both commercial and higher-end residential properties.

We are looking for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in doing things right the first time, and can think on their feet. You manage your time without being micromanaged, troubleshoot problems on the fly, and figure things out rather than waiting to be told what to do next.

This is not an entry-level position. You will work closely alongside the owner to start — not because we doubt your skills, but because we have specific systems and standards that reflect how we've built our reputation. This role will grow into a full-time position for the right person.

Pay Structure

- $35–45/hr based on experience and skill level

- We believe in rewarding productivity and professionalism — not encouraging people to work slowly on hourly pay
- Tool allowance is part of the compensation package for the right long-term hire

Hours

- 2–3 days per week to start
- Work is primarily consistent indoor work across commercial and residential properties
- Daytime hours — Monday to Friday, regular business hours
- Occasional weekend availability may be required depending on client access — the exception, not the norm
- This role will grow into full-time for the right person

Typical Work Includes

- Finish carpentry and trim work
- Door and frame installation, adjustment, and repair
- Cabinet installation and modification
- Small bathroom renovations
- Drywall patching, repair, and finishing
- Interior painting and touch-ups
- General building maintenance and punch list work
- Small to mid-sized repair and renovation tasks across residential and commercial properties

Work varies widely — from minor door adjustments to full small renovations.



The right candidate is comfortable moving between scopes and adapting to what the job needs.

Work Environment

- Both residential homes and commercial buildings
- Primarily west Edmonton
- Primarily indoor work in occupied spaces — professionalism and respect for the client's environment is non-negotiable
- Some jobs you will run independently; others alongside the owner or another technician

Requirements

- Red Seal Carpenter preferred — equivalent experience with demonstrated well-rounded skills considered
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on carpentry and maintenance experience
- Well-rounded skill set across multiple trades — the more you bring, the more work we have for you
- Ability to work independently and manage a job site without supervision
- Reliable vehicle and valid driver's licence
- Own tools required
- Fluent English is essential — you will communicate directly with clients and the owner daily
- Clean, professional appearance
- Comfortable using a smartphone for work orders, job notes, and photos
- Must be able to pass a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
