Junior Controller

PF Automobile Dealers Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Controller to join our growing automobile group. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced dealership accounting professional who is ready to take the next step in their career and develop their skills in dealership financial operations.

The Junior Controller will work closely with the Controller and dealership management team to support day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, reconciliations, compliance, and overall financial performance.

Responsibilities & Duties

- Assist with the day-to-day operations of the dealership accounting department.
- Assist with the preparation and review of monthly and annual financial statements.
- Support the Controller with financial reporting, forecasts, budgets, and dealership analysis.
- Assist with cash flow management, floorplan financing, and manufacturer financial reporting.
- Ensure accounting transactions are accurate and completed in accordance with company policies, GAAP, and OEM requirements.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice review, payment processing, and account reconciliation.
- Assist with payroll processing and ensure payroll information is accurate and submitted on a timely basis.
- Prepare and maintain general ledger reconciliations and assist with account analysis.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Support year-end audits and provide requested documentation as needed.
- Work with department managers to review financial results, identify variances, and improve departmental performance.
- Assist in identifying and implementing accounting and process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Maintain organized and accurate accounting records.




- Provide support to the Controller and management team on various accounting and financial projects.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Dealership accounting experience is required.
- 3+ years of automotive dealership accounting experience preferred.
- Previous experience in a senior accounting, dealership accounting, or assistant/controller-level role is an asset.
- Robust understanding of automotive dealership accounting principles and processes.
- Experience with CDK Global and/or other dealership management software is required.
- Strong knowledge of general accounting principles, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, payroll, and general ledger accounting.
- Ability to understand and analyze financial statements and dealership reports.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while also working effectively as part of a team.
- Strong Excel and computer skills.
- A willingness to learn and grow into increased accounting and leadership responsibilities.
