Junior Server / Host

We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and motivated Junior Server / Host to join our front-of-house team.

This position combines junior serving responsibilities with hosting and takeout coordination. It is a great opportunity for someone looking to build experience in the restaurant industry while learning multiple areas of front-of-house operations.

Responsibilities

Hosting

- Greet guests warmly and professionally
- Manage the host stand and guest flow
- Seat guests according to table availability and server sections
- Manage reservations and walk-in guests
- Answer restaurant phone calls
- Maintain an organized and welcoming front entrance
- Communicate wait times accurately
- Assist with clearing, resetting, and preparing tables when needed
- Communicate closely with servers and management regarding table availability and guest needs

Takeout & Online Orders The Junior Server / Host is responsible for coordinating all takeout orders, including:
- In-house phone and walk-in takeout orders
- Online orders
- Skip orders
- Uber Eats orders
- Confirming orders are entered and processed accurately
- Checking completed orders for accuracy before they leave the restaurant
- Ensuring sauces, cutlery, napkins, drinks, and other required items are included
- Packaging and organizing takeout orders properly
- Monitoring incoming delivery-app orders throughout the shift
- Communicating order timing or issues with the kitchen
- Greeting delivery drivers and ensuring they receive the correct orders
- Processing and organizing customer takeout payments where required

Junior Serving
- Take food and beverage orders accurately
- Deliver food and beverages to tables
- Check in with guests throughout their meal




- Clear and reset tables
- Process guest payments
- Learn the menu, daily features, and beverage offerings
- Follow responsible alcohol service procedures
- Assist senior servers during busy periods
- Help maintain dining room cleanliness and organization
- Complete assigned opening and closing duties

Requirements
- Valid Smart Serve certification is required
- Must have evening and weekend availability
- Must be flexible with shifts and scheduling
- Reliable and punctual
- Friendly and comfortable interacting with guests
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Able to multitask and stay organized during busy periods
- Comfortable managing dine-in guests and multiple takeout platforms at the same time
- Able to work effectively as part of a team
- Willing to learn and take direction
- Previous restaurant or customer service experience is an asset, but not required

Availability Applicants must be available for a combination of evening, weekend, and varying shifts based on business needs.

Scheduling flexibility is an important requirement for this position.

Pay: $17.95 per hour

Expected hours: 12.0 – 25.0 per week
