Job Summary

MJ Poke N Roll is a family-owned sushi takeout restaurant looking for a reliable, hardworking, and friendly Kitchen Helper / Cashier to join our team.

We are a small and welcoming team, and we’re looking for someone who is responsible, positive, and willing to help with both kitchen and front counter duties. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced restaurant environment and providing friendly customer service.

Duties & Responsibilities

- Assist with food preparation, including preparing and assembling ingredients
- Help kitchen staff with general food preparation and food handling
- Greet customers warmly and take orders accurately
- Operate the POS system and process cash, debit, and credit card payments
- Pack takeout and delivery orders accurately and efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, front counter, and work areas
- Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures
- Ensure ingredients and food items are properly stored
- Work efficiently during busy periods to keep orders moving smoothly
- Assist other team members as needed

- Reliable, responsible,

- Friendly and positive attitude
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Able to work efficiently in a quick-paced environment
- Comfortable handling cash and using a POS system
- Able to multitask and manage time effectively
- Willing to perform both kitchen and cashier/front counter duties
- Knowledge of food safety and proper food handling is an asset
- Previous restaurant or food service experience is preferred, but training can be provided
- Able to work well as part of a small team
