IslandEarth has been building and caring for landscapes across Greater Victoria for nearly 20 years. Our commercial maintenance division has grown to the point where it needs one strong leader running the field operation, and this is a newly created role to do exactly that. You will lead an established, year-round operation serving commercial, strata and residential development clients across the region.

What you will do

· Run the maintenance program across our commercial, strata and residential portfolio: mowing, pruning, weeding, bed care, seasonal cleanups and turf health.

· Lead our snow and ice service when the weather turns, including crew call-outs, sanding, salting and plowing.

· Look after new construction sites through their warranty period, and handle showhome and developer properties.

· Be the day-to-day contact for site managers and property managers, and catch problems before the client does

· Grow our existing accounts by spotting and scoping added-value work on your sites (enhancements, plant replacements, irrigation repairs, mulch, aeration, seasonal colour) and bringing it forward for pricing.

· Take on one-off and add-on work that comes in from clients and referrals.

· Keep equipment and vehicles maintained and ready to work.

What you need

· A horticulture credential (certificate, diploma or Landscape Horticulturist trade ticket). Red Seal is an asset.

· Several years in commercial landscape maintenance, including running crews

· Solid scheduling, labour control and client service skills

· A good eye for opportunity and the confidence to recommend improvements to clients

· A BC Pesticide Applicator Certificate, or willingness to earn it (we support it)

· A valid BC driver's licence

What we offer

· Salary of $83,000 to $117,000 per year, based on experience, including overtime
