Alberta Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) is seeking a relationship-driven Lending Advisor to support women entrepreneurs through every stage of their loan journey , from first conversation to long-term success.

About the Role

As a Lending Advisor, you play a critical role at the heart of AWE’s lending programs. You’ll work directly with entrepreneurs to understand their goals, assess loan readiness, and guide them through the application and funding process with clarity, empathy, and professionalism.

This is a client-facing role where financial expertise meets relationship-building, ideal for someone who values both robust analysis and meaningful impact.

What You’ll Do

- Build trusted relationships with prospective and current loan clients
- Guide entrepreneurs through the loan process from intake to disbursement
- Review business plans, financial statements, and cash flow projections
- Conduct loan assessments and prepare credit recommendations
- Interpret credit reports and assess business viability and risk
- Maintain accurate client records and ensure compliance with privacy standards
- Provide ongoing support and check-ins with clients post-funding
- Connect clients to additional AWE programs, resources, and supports
- Represent AWE in the community and contribute to events and partnerships

What You Bring

- Experience in small business lending, finance, or business advising
- Strong financial analysis skills (cash flow, credit, risk assessment)
- Ability to interpret financial statements and business plans
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills




- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365

Nice to have:

- Experience working with entrepreneurs or small businesses
- Familiarity with Alberta’s funding ecosystem
- Experience with CRM or loan management systems
- Lived experience as an entrepreneur
