Licensed Electrician – Renewable Energy & Industrial Projects

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Licensed Electrician to assist with our projects throughout Ontario, the role being appropriate for an electrician who has a solid record in commercial or industrial electrical work and who has preferably had experience with solar and renewable energy systems.

The person who succeeds will carry out the duties of installation, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and commissioning and at the same time make sure that all the work complies with the relevant electrical codes and the project's safety requirements.

Primary Duties

Install the solar photovoltaic systems, including the panels, inverters, disconnects, and the related electrical equipment, and carry out the wiring, testing, and commissioning.

Perform the electrical installations for industrial sites, warehouses, and commercial buildings.

- Install and support energy monitoring and energy management systems.
- Identify electrical faults and carry out the necessary repairs, modifications, and system upgrades.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, schematics, and the project specifications.

Carry out the electrical connections, terminations, testing, and verification in accordance with the requirements of the project.



Make sure that all installations adhere to the Ontario Electrical Safety Code and to the relevant safety regulations.

Keep in close contact with supervisors, project managers, engineers, and the other trades in order to keep the project schedule on track.

- Make sure that the working environment is clean, well organised, and safe.
- Go to the project sites when needed.

Required Qualifications

- A valid Ontario 309A construction and maintenance electrician's licence, or another applicable recognised certification.
- Experience from earlier work in commercial or industrial electrical installations.

Having experience in connection with solar PV systems or renewable energy projects is seen as a valuable asset.
- A good understanding of electrical codes, wiring methods, testing procedures, and electrical safety practices.

– The ability to understand technical drawings and electrical schematics.
- The ability to carry out thorough troubleshooting and to identify faults.
- Can work either on their own or as part of a project team.

A valid driver’s licence and a willingness to travel between the different job sites.
