Osprey Legal is a boutique litigation firm in Calgary seeking a lawyer with at least three years of experience in any area of litigation.

We offer professional autonomy, flexibility and direct responsibility for files and client relationships, together with a steady source of interesting work and the opportunity to collaborate with experienced counsel. The successful candidate may work on a hybrid or remote basis and develop a practice in their preferred area of litigation. An existing book of business is not required.

The Role The successful candidate will manage litigation matters, including:

· Managing files from commencement through resolution;

- Advising clients on litigation strategy, risk and potential outcomes;
- Drafting pleadings, applications, briefs and other court materials;
- Conducting questioning and examinations;
- Appearing before the Alberta Court of Justice and Court of King's Bench;
- Attending applications, mediations and settlement proceedings;
- Negotiating settlements and preparing matters for trial; and
- Working directly with clients, experts and opposing counsel.

Qualifications

Candidates must





· Have at least three years of post-qualification litigation experience;

- Be a member in good standing of the Law Society of Alberta;
- Be capable of managing litigation matters with a significant degree of independence;
- Have strong legal research, analytical, writing and advocacy skills;
- Demonstrate sound professional judgment; and
- Be organized, reliable, responsive and conscientious.

Remuneration Remuneration will be commensurate with market rates, reflecting experience, productivity, and responsibility for files.
