The Opportunity The mission of the Manager, Community Resource Database – Editorial Services is to champion and expand the reach, quality, and impact of Findhelp’s community resource directories. Leading a dedicated team of database curators, this role oversees database maintenance, enforces rigorous standards, and stewards key partnerships to ensure quality service delivery. You will thrive in this role if you are:

How You’ll Make an Impact:

- Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and manage the Editorial team through active work planning, goal setting, performance management, and strategic visioning.
- Policy, Standards and System Integration: Analyze, refine, and implement editorial policies and workflows with system solutions (including taxonomy classification, inclusion/exclusion criteria, and style standard implementation) to maintain quality and drive consistency across databases.
- Opportunity and Partnership Coordination: Manage internal and external directory initiatives, coordinating their development and execution to expand directory reach and impact.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Partner with the broader leadership team to develop and execute organizational initiatives aligned with Findhelp’s core values, strategic priorities, and leadership competencies.
- Other responsibilities as required to meet department and organizational goals.

What You Bring:

- Editorial and Quality Control: Strong research, writing, and editing skills with keen attention to detail and the ability to assess quality for continuous improvement.
- Database Management: In-depth knowledge of database management, standards, best practices, and application within the Information and Referral (I&R;) system in Canada.
- Sector Knowledge: Knowledge and understanding of community, social and human services field in Canada.
- People Management and Department Leadership: Strong capabilities in leading editorial teams, work planning, performance management, goal setting,



and driving departmental alignment with broader organizational strategies.
- Understanding of information classification systems, taxonomy and style guides is an asset.
- Language: Bilingualism (French and English) is a strong asset.

Experience and Education

- 5 years of database content management experience
- 3 years of direct people leadership/management experience
- Sector Background: Community, social service, or information and referral (I&R;) sector experience required
- Education: MLIS Degree in Library and Information Science or post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- CRS-DC (Community Resource Specialist - Database Curator) InformUSA/AIRS certification an asset

Role Details

- Salary and Benefits: Salary Range - $70,000 to $75, 000 with a comprehensive employee benefits package including: participation in CUPE’s Multi-Sector Pension Plan.
