Head of Software Platform (permanent position, 40 hours per week) At Nord Quantique, we strive to build impactful technology by relentlessly pushing our understanding of quantum science. Our quantum processors are designed to reduce errors in quantum computation to facilitate long-term scaling toward fully-fledged quantum computers.

Vacation: 5 weeks per year Group insurance (including dental care), virtual care, lifestyle spending account (all available after 3 months of service) As Nord Quantique continues to grow, we are seeking a Head of Software Platform to lead the evolution of the company’s most strategically significant software organizations.

The Software

Platform organization develops the foundational software systems, infrastructure, and tooling that support Nord Quantique’s research, device operation, and broader software ecosystem. Spanning multiple software teams and technical domains, the organization plays a central role in connecting research, hardware, infrastructure, and applications while laying the foundation for future customer-facing products. The Head of Software Platform will guide the long-term evolution of both the organization and the platform itself, working closely with technical leadership across the company to ensure alignment, scalability, and sustainable execution in a rapidly evolving R&D; environment.

While a strong software engineering background is important, this role is primarily about organizational leadership, technical strategy, and cross-functional coordination. We are looking for someone who can empower technical leaders, build high-performing teams, and help unify the technical direction of a growing software platform organization. The Head of Software Platform will provide leadership at multiple levels:



Within the organization — supporting team leads and technical leaders in building effective, collaborative, and resilient software teams; Across Nord Quantique — aligning software strategy and priorities with evolving company needs and long-term roadmap objectives; Lead and support a growing Software Platform organization composed of multiple software teams and technical leadership functions.

Empower team leads and technical leaders to build effective, collaborative, and high-performing teams. Define and drive the long-term vision and evolution of Nord Quantique’s software platform. Align software priorities and execution with the company’s broader technical roadmap and operational needs.

Foster a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, physics, or in a related field. Minimum of 8 years of experience leading software development initiatives in an R&D;, deep-tech, or technically ambitious industrial environment.

Experience scaling and maturing software systems, from early-stage development to stable operational deployment.

Experience leading software development across multiple teams or organizational functions.

Experience in quantum computing or other advanced scientific or deep-tech environments is considered an asset.



Strong understanding of how to structure and scale effective software development organizations. Ability to coordinate software initiatives across multiple teams and technical disciplines.

Strong systems-thinking skills and ability to maintain a high-level view of complex software ecosystems. Understanding of the challenges involved in developing software within advanced scientific or deep-tech environments. Advanced level in English, to communicate with international team members Intermediate knowledge of French is an asset.

Strong organizational leadership and team-building skills. Ability to build, communicate, and align teams around a shared technical and organizational vision. Excellent judgment in prioritization, resource allocation, and organizational planning.
