Medical Imaging Field Service & Installation Technician

We work with hospitals, clinics, manufacturers, and healthcare organizations on medical imaging projects throughout Canada and internationally.
As we continue to grow, we are looking for motivated and technically capable individuals to join our field service and installation team.
About the Position
We are hiring Medical Imaging Field Service & Installation Technicians to work with equipment including:
- MRI systems
- CT scanners
- General Radiology / X-Ray systems
- Fluoroscopy systems
- Other diagnostic imaging equipment
Previous medical imaging experience is preferred but is not required. We are willing to train the right candidates. We are looking for individuals who are mechanically and technically inclined, comfortable working with tools and equipment, and interested in developing a specialized career in the medical imaging industry.
Candidates with backgrounds in electrical, electronics, mechanical systems, biomedical technology, industrial equipment, automotive, HVAC, field service, or similar technical fields are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
As part of the TECHNOMED technical team, you will:
- Install and deinstall MRI, CT, X-Ray, and other medical imaging systems
- Assist with complete equipment relocations and system installations
- Perform mechanical and electrical installation work
- Install, route, terminate, and organize system cabling
- Assemble and disassemble imaging equipment and related components
- Assist with troubleshooting, testing, calibration, and servicing of equipment
- Read and follow technical documentation, installation manuals, schematics, and drawings
- Use hand tools, power tools, electrical meters, and specialized technical equipment
- Work with engineers, project managers, electricians, rigging companies, OEM representatives, and hospital personnel
- Identify and communicate technical or site-related issues during projects
- Follow TECHNOMED procedures and customer-specific safety requirements
- Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles
- Complete required project and service documentation
- Maintain a clean and professional work environment at customer sites
Requirements
- Must be a Canadian citizen
- Valid Canadian driver's licence
- Valid Canadian passport
- Must be able and willing to travel throughout Canada and internationally
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical aptitude
- Comfortable working with hand tools, power tools, and technical equipment
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems logically
- Willingness to learn complex medical imaging systems
- Ability to read and understand technical documentation and drawings
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Professional attitude when working in hospitals and healthcare facilities
- Dependable, punctual, and responsible
- Ability to work independently when required
- Ability to perform physical work associated with equipment installation and removal
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, and extended hours depending on project requirements
- Robust commitment to workplace and customer-site safety
Preferred Qualifications Experience in any of the following areas is considered an asset:
- MRI, CT, X-Ray, or other medical imaging equipment
- Siemens Healthineers, GE HealthCare, Philips, or Canon Medical equipment
- Electrical or electronics
- Electromechanical systems
- Biomedical engineering or biomedical technology
- Mechanical engineering technology
- Industrial equipment installation or maintenance
- Field service
- HVAC or refrigeration
- Automotive or heavy equipment
- Electrical troubleshooting
- Reading electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Using electrical meters and diagnostic equipment
Medical imaging experience is not mandatory. Candidates with a strong technical foundation and the right attitude can be trained by TECHNOMED. Training & Career Development
TECHNOMED will provide hands-on training to qualified candidates who demonstrate strong technical aptitude, reliability, and a willingness to learn.
New technicians will initially work alongside experienced team members on active medical imaging projects.
Training may include
- MRI and CT system installation and deinstallation
- X-Ray and radiology equipment
- Electrical and mechanical systems
- System cabling and component identification
- Equipment troubleshooting
- Technical documentation and drawings
- Equipment handling and rigging coordination
- Hospital and healthcare site procedures
- Workplace and equipment safety
